Second Hand Car Sales in the UK

With the economy mired in an unrelenting recession, residents of the UK are saving money any way they can. This often means putting off large purchases like new homes and vehicles. But when you car breaks down and you need to get to work, your options are rather limited. In fact, there are really only two choices — your can get a new car or a used one.

According to recent figures, it seems that more UK residents are choosing the latter. That’s right! second hand car sales are on the rise as buyers are now willing to take a chance on a used car to save some money.

But in all honestly, it’s not much of a gamble. Not anymore. You see, as a way to entice potential buyers, most car dealerships now offer full or partial warranties on many of their pre-owned vehicle. That means they’ve done thorough inspections to ensure that the vehicles they sell will not break down. Of course, if it did, they’d have to pay for all repairs. (more...)

Saving Money with Car Imports

While the UK economy struggles to get back on its feet, residents are looking for deals anywhere they can find them. This is especially true when it comes to big purchases like cars and homes. That is why so many people have purchased foreclosed homes at bank auctions in recent months.

But what about automobiles? What do you do if you desperately need a car but can’t afford one? One often overlooked, but viable option is to purchase a used vehicle in another country, especially one that is known for producing high quality autos like Germany. In this brief article we are going to explain what you need to do to import a car into the UK.

The first thing to do is to inform the car dealer that you are planning to have the car imported and ask them if they can fill out the paper work at their end. Then you need to actually pay for the vehicle. The easiest way to complete payment is with a high limit credit card. You can also wire the money through your bank or send a certified cheque or money order. (more...)

Imported Cars for Cost Savings

With the help of the internet, searching for a used car is easier than it’s ever been. But finding a great deal can still be difficult with car and petrol prices constantly fluctuating. One proven way shoppers can save a tidy sum is to purchase a car in another country and import it into the UK. With so many great car-producing countries in the area, importing a vehicle is a viable option.

However, this option is seldom used because buyers simply don’t want to go through all of the trouble. But in a difficult economy, more and more consumers are seriously considering it. In this article we are going to briefly explain what you need to do to import a vehicle.

First things first, you have to pay for the vehicle. Then tell the dealer you are planning to import it and ask if he can help with the paperwork at his end. Most dealers will begrudgingly agree, which makes the process a lot easier. Next, you will need to actually travel to the country and drive the car home. Make certain that you receive temporary insurance from the dealership for the ride back. (more...)

You Too Can Afford a Prestige Car

Never before has it been so easy for the average man in the street to own a so called prestige car. It used to be the case that the marques – those cars designated as highly desirable - were above the range of the normal motorist’s pocket.

These cars typically have a lot of luxury extras and so called ‘boys toys’ fitted as standard but as we have moved forward with technology these extras have become the norm on so many regular production vehicles. Features such as ABS brakes, Turbo charged engines, multi disc CD players and satellite navigation are often now fitted as standard on even the most basic, low priced vehicles. This has partly taken the edge off the special nature of these prestige cars. So, the name and the snob value are really what remain, as well as a more solid feel and sometimes smoother and quieter ride.

In these troubled times prestige car sales have come under pressure, but marques like BMW are holding up well in the market and the top end will always thrive. However, in this Green age the big gas guzzlers, including a lot of the prestige cars, have found the bottom dropping out of their used car market. This is where the average man with some cash in his pocket can snatch some amazing bargains if he knows where to look and especially if he knows dealers who will move vehicles on for a really quick but small profit. Finding Good Second Hand Used Cars

Searching for second hand used cars can be a long and tiresome task. There are hundreds of different makes and models all with varying ages to choose from. In your search for a quality used car, it is important to take a few precautions to ensure you are getting a quality used vehicle.

The first thing to do when you are considering buying a used car is to consider the age of the vehicle. Some brands do last longer than others due to superior craftsmanship, but that does not mean that some brands are immune to age.

Always take a good long walk around the outside of the vehicle. This walk will allow you to spot any rust spots or other ill regularities that the car may have. Second hand used cars can sometimes be hiding their flaws, take this step cautiously. (more...)

Car Import Sales on the Rise

With the economies of many European nations still struggling with the after effects of the global recession, people are looking for deals wherever they can find them. This is especially true of big ticket items like cars and even homes, as more and more consumers are willing to travel overseas to get a good deal. In this article we are going to discuss buying a vehicle in a foreign country and importing it into the UK.

There is a good reason why car import sales have been steadily rising in the UK. In a word: savings. Not surprisingly, it is far cheaper to buy a car directly from a foreign manufacturer than to have them ship it over and be forced to pay the excessive import and local dealer fees.

We know what you’re thinking… then why doesn’t everybody do it? Well, the fact is that most folks make the mistake of thinking that it is simply too difficult or time-consuming to try. And while it is true that there is a lot of paperwork involved, if you are buying a car in a nearby country like Germany, it may be worth it. (more...)

quality-used-cars.co.uk Online

While consumers naturally prefer new cars to used ones, there are many good reasons to purchase a pre-owned vehicle. To begin with, new vehicles depreciate at an incredible rate. According to reliable industry reports, a new car can lose more than half of its value in the first five years of ownership.

Of course, the depreciation rate is based on a number of important factors such as the popularity of the car you own. But for demotic models, owners should expect them to lose at least half their value, even if they are well-maintained. That is why used cars are nearly three times as popular as new ones.

But it wasn’t always this way. There was a time when consumers were apprehensive about buying any used car, whether from a dealership or an online seller like Quality used cars . Then the dealerships finally smartened up and they began to offer buyers full and partial warranties on most used vehicles. At long last buyers had a bit of security and they didn’t have to worry about being stuck with a lemon. The practice also ensured that dealerships would do a better job examining and repairing all pre-owned vehicles before they were offered for sale. (more...)

The Mini is Back in Force

Mini cars, originally launched with great gusto and popularity in the 1960’s, have come back into the market with a vengeance some 40 years on – what a revival. The Mini Cooper evokes memories of an age of motoring without all the toys of today but with the flare of the sports car, and with the now old ‘boy racers’ putting spacers on the wheels and souping up even the sportiest models.

The Mini One, the revived and slightly more basic model, has a good ride and brilliant handling. It looks great, too, and has low running costs, with strong residual values, albeit the standard kit is pretty miserly and the interior materials feel cheaper than the Cooper's. Some would argue that the boot is tiny and some of the controls are too fiddly.

But if you are looking to change your car and you are looking amongst the more economical ranges, why not consider a used mini one car ? The excitement of a small car, with amazing handling characteristics and an intrinsic sporty feel is backed up with economical running, easy parking and more than enough room for two people and their shopping or weekend gear. Used Mercedes SLK Sports Cars

Due to the increased popularity of roadsters in Europe, Mercedes-Benz developed the SLK class of cars about a decade ago. The car is a direct response to the Porsche Boxster and the BMW Z3, both of which had already achieved success in the growing market. But Mercedes has never been one to follow the lead of its closest competitors, which is why they insisted on putting their own stamp on the new vehicle.

The most obvious innovation the company made was to introduce a retractable top that was made out of steel rather than fabric. This simple feature transformed the roadster into more than just a seasonal vehicle, since users can now drive it in any kind of weather.

From the start, the SLK was extremely popular with consumers in spite of the fact that the early reviews were uninspiring. Critics noted time and again that the handling of the SLK was poor, especially for a sports car. But Mercedes was not content with high sales numbers alone and they sent its engineers back to the drawing board. That is why the more recent generations of the SLK have been well-received by both consumers and critics alike. If you are interested in a used Mercedes SLK sports , the place to start is on the internet. (more...)

Buying Second Hand Cars: A Good Idea?

Does buying used cars second hand mean disaster? Does it really have to mean buying someone else’s headache? Certainly not! Buying a used car need not mean buying an old and rickety excuse for a tragedy. If you look at the right places and make the right choices, you can end with a very good vehicle that will not cost half as much as the new version.

Increasingly, people are opting for used cars because they offer good value for money. This demand for second hand vehicles is obviously translating into a greater variety of used cars on the market. There are cars to suit the needs of all kinds of buyers. Be it family vehicles, compact city cars, or even up market vehicles, it is all there.

The only thing a buyer needs to do before looking at used cars is deciding their priority. This means knowing what they need the car for and whether they are fixed on price, or fixed on a particular make and model. Just like you would with a new car, or in fact, any consumable goods, you need to research the market and see what is available. (more...)

Imported Car Sales are Vital to the Car Industry

The car industry is a worldwide industry, and when one facet of it is suffering, it all suffers. An example is the recent global recession that we are still fighting to get out of.

The car industry in the United States suffered massive blows in the past couple of years with thousands of jobs lost and even more lost in revenue. This scenario was probably due to bad management, but there was also another factor that played into the collapse of American auto makers.

Imported car sales from Europe and Japan took a major chunk of the profits from the American car makers. Unlike Europe and Japan where American companies have a very small piece of the market, imports in North America are huge and take up a sizeable percentage. (more...)

Second Hand Car Sales Are Still Good

We live in a world where cars are mass produced and sold on a global level. We live in a culture of consumption therefore we need to consume new products continuously. One product that continues to be produced on a massive scale is automobiles.

Unlike other electronic products, we don't simply throw away our cars when they get old. We sell them in private sales or trade them in for new cars but they simply do not disappear. This is why the demand for second hand car sales is as big as it is.

Used cars are just like any other car on the market, except they have had a previous owner. Each used car obviously has some wear and tear on the mechanical components, but depending on the type of car and amount of mileage that may be insignificant. (more...)

The Local Approach to Buying a Car

When starting your search for a used Fiat , many people are willing to travel longer distances to find their dream car. However, if you prefer a more personal experience, head down to your local Fiat dealer, or other independent second-hand car dealers.

Many people still prefer this direct interface with the retailer, and the chance to physically walk around the showroom and inspect the cars. There is even a used car section of the official Fiat UK website, which shows you cars available according to your model choice and postcode. One of the benefits of this local approach is that you are more likely to receive better warranty service if anything goes wrong with the car. The downside is that if you do not shop around, you are unlikely to enjoy the best prices.

Another option is to scour the local papers for personal for sale ads. Again, you have the chance to physically inspect the car, and you are much more likely to be able to negotiate a sharp price, without paying any middleman. But the car is almost certainly likely to come without warranty, so if you don’t have any clue about what is under the bonnet, this carries a significant risk. (more...)

The Legacy of Fiat

Italian automotive giant Fiat is the sixth largest car manufacturer in the world, and the largest one in Italy. Fiat makes a variety of vehicles ranging from compact city cars to large commercial trucks. It has always been a popular company across the world, and Fiat car sales today are as strong as ever.

Fiat has stood for quality and performance since its inception over a century ago in 1899. The company has received the European Car Of The Year Award twelve times in the last 40 years, which is more than any other company.

Some of the standard features of Fiat vehicles are solid performance, sturdy design, and unique styling. It isn't possible to find a Fiat car that is not laden with style and personality. (more...)

Why Buy Imported Cars?

The internet has given car buyers access to vehicles all over the world. This is particularly helpful to UK shoppers who are interested in imported cars. Why buy imported cars ? Well, the most obvious reason is that you actually want to own the car in question. Another reason is that you live in a country that does not produce many attractive models.

And since the UK is close to countries like Germany, which is home to some of the world's greatest automakers, shoppers may be able to save some money. After all, the greater the distance a car must be shipped, the higher the costs. It is even possible to import a car to the UK on your own.

That's right! A car buyer can save a bundle importing a car to the UK from either France or Germany. How much can you save? It really does depend on the vehicle. But as you might expect, prices are much lower minus exportation costs and fees. (more...)

An Oriental Car

If you are looking for a value for money second hand car, you could do worse than looking at buying an imported car. There can be pitfalls, but as long as you are careful and are aware of any potential problems you could end up with a bargain.

When talking about imported used cars , many people automatically think of importing from Europe. In the days of the relatively strong pound, this used to be an attractive option, but many people were put off by left hand drive.

An option which is, however, becoming more popular, is to look at importing a car from other countries where they drive on the same side of the road as us. Japan is one example. But would you really consider importing all the way from Japan? Why not? There are some reputable companies now who, for a commission, guide you through the process of importing a new car from Japan. Can a Car Change the Way People See You?

It is amazing how a grown person can suddenly lose all sense and opt for a car that is totally unsuitable for them. This is a phenomenon often to be found with prestige car sales , and is marked by people hankering after a lifestyle which they think will be theirs if only they can buy the car of their dreams.

So many of us are looking for that elusive car which we think will make us a better person, or a more outgoing person, or even a more attractive person. In some deluded way we believe that owning the right car will make us into the person that we want to be.

Often, all it does is leave us with a car we can ill afford the repayments on, and a petrol bill that makes us weep. (more...)

Choosing a Used Hyundai

As a more financially viable alternative to buying a brand new vehicle, many people choose to purchase a used car. For a fraction of the cost of a brand new model, you will be able to purchase a previously owned car.

These cars may often be only two or three years old, but provided that they have been regularly serviced and maintained by their previous owner they will still run and appear as new. There are a large number of used car dealers to be found online as well as a number of used car supermarkets and showrooms to found in every town and city in the UK.

Here you will find a large selection of every make and model, even including the less commercially available models such as used Hyundai cars. (more...)

Why Hyundai Cars Sell in the UK

The UK car sales market is amongst the largest and most profitable in the world, after such major purchasers as the USA and China. Perhaps the most popular models purchased by UK consumers are the traditional Ford, Vauxhall, Volkswagen and Toyota models.

Of course, there are a large number of other models available to be purchased brand new or from a used car dealer. For example the Korean car maker, Hyundai sell a large number of vehicles in the UK.

As well as being the fourth largest manufacturer in the world, thousands of Hyundai car sales UK are made every year. There are a large choice of Hyundai models available in the UK. These include the compact Amica, the slightly larger Accent and the family sized Entourage and Verna. (more...)

The Rise of the Car

It is amazing how within one hundred relatively short years, the car has gone from a novelty, only to be enjoyed by the elite, to something that we just cannot live without. And it is not enough to just have one car per family, but three or four cars per family is often common. Car sales Ireland and in the UK have shot up astronomically in the past few decades, apart from the temporary blip we are experiencing due to the recession. And this has to be temporary, as we are now too reliant on cars to ever go back to the more traditional ways of travelling.

Whereas once our grandparents and even parents were happy to walk short distances as a matter of course, such as a few kilometres, this is now unthinkable to most people today. Many people are horrified if they even have to walk a kilometre to the nearest shop.

Whether we can ever get back part way to where we were is debatable. It is quite sad that we now hop in the car without thought, without having a chance to take in the nature along the way, or chat to people in the street, quite apart from stretching our legs and getting some exercise.
