Can a Car Change the Way People See You?It is amazing how a grown person can suddenly lose all sense and opt for a car that is totally unsuitable for them. This is a phenomenon often to be found with prestige car sales , and is marked by people hankering after a lifestyle which they think will be theirs if only they can buy the car of their dreams. So many of us are looking for that elusive car which we think will make us a better person, or a more outgoing person, or even a more attractive person. In some deluded way we believe that owning the right car will make us into the person that we want to be. Often, all it does is leave us with a car we can ill afford the repayments on, and a petrol bill that makes us weep. The classic mid-life crisis is often heralded by the man or woman buying a nifty sports car, or even a motor cycle. We are looking for a sense of escapeism and freedom after years of changing nappies and paying the mortgage. But does this escapism really work? Sometimes yes, but only for a while. How often have you seen people using their cars as an extension of how they would like other people to see them, or rather how they believe other people see them? Sadly, it is usually just themselves that they are kidding. |
